Hi! Thanks for dropping by. Chances are something’s weighing on you- maybe it’s anxiety, depression, or a relationship. Could be grief, trauma, addiction, an eating disorder, a big life change, or just a nagging “why am I so flat?” feeling. Maybe you’re here for a friend or family member who’s struggling.
Think of your mind as a messy drawer- thoughts, worries, and feelings all tangled up like old cables and half-dead batteries. Counselling is sitting down with a professional untangler, someone trained to help you sort through the mess.
It’s like hiring a guide for a hike through the jungle of your mind- they don’t carry you, but they help you find the path, avoid the quicksand, and maybe even laugh at the absurdity of it all. It’s not them waving a magic wand to fix your life. Instead, it’s you and this person- who’s paid to listen without rolling their eyes or checking their phone- having a real, no-BS conversation about whatever has got you stuck.
Whether you’re stressed about work feeling like a treadmill stuck on max, your relationships hitting a rough patch, or something deeper like loss or old wounds, counselling is about asking the right questions, spotting patterns you might miss, and guiding you through. No preaching, just a safe space to figure out what’s going on and how to handle it better.
I’m a qualified counsellor with a degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University and am a pre-accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).
My career began in construction, tackling complex projects as a civil engineer and project manager. Life on a construction site was not for the faint hearted and it was a steep learning curve balancing the demands of sub-contractors and clients in terms of budgets, programmes, quality and safety. After five years I moved back to the family farm where, with the abolition of milk quotas, an opportunity arose to expand our dairy herd. I have spent the last fifteen years growing the business to its current level. As with construction, it was a very steep learning curve, learning to deal with the unpredictability of weather and animals.
Both roles involved pressures of tight deadlines, unpredictable challenges, and the mental strain of commercial life - times when I stumbled, felt overwhelmed, and hesitated to seek help. When I finally reached out, it was a turning point, revealing the power of a listening ear and inspiring me to train as a counsellor to support others.
My engineering and farming experience honed practical problem-solving skills and resilience, which, paired with my integrative therapy training- rooted in a person-centred approach- enables me to offer a straightforward yet deeply empathetic space. Drawing from my journey, I understand the challenges many face in work and life, from high-pressure industries to personal struggles, and I warmly welcome everyone to find clarity and strength together.
Let’s be honest: we’re great at saying “I’m grand” when we’re anything but. Admitting you need a chat can feel like a big deal, but counselling isn’t for “broken” people- it’s for anyone. Young folks stressing over exams, parents juggling too much, or anyone who’s just feeling a bit lost. It’s not about someone fixing you; it’s about you taking charge with a bit of expert backup. That’s where I come in!
If this is hitting home, don’t overthink it. Give me a call at 0852108861 to chat about what’s going on. Counselling’s like picking up a new tool to tackle life’s mess- it’s not about being “fixed,” it’s about being you, just a bit clearer. You’re not alone, and that first step? It’s the start of something good.
